Established in 1910 and located in the majestic hills of Litchfield County, Meadow Ridge Farm LLC. is one of 170 dairy farms still in operation in the state of Connecticut. Meadow Ridge Farm LLC. belongs to the farmer owned milk marketing cooperative Agri-Mark which is owned by over 1,300 dairy farms throughout New England and New York. In addition, Meadow Ridge Farm LLC. belongs to the Cabot Cheese cooperative, a nationally recognized brand which is also owned by Agri-Mark farmers. Our Products

Fresh raw milk can be purchased at the farm and is available in convenient gallon and half-gallon sizes. All of our milk is bottled daily to ensure our customers of top quality and freshness. Hay can also be purchased at the farm and is available in many different grades, from feed quality to landscaping grade at the best prices around. Our Cows

Currently Meadow Ridge Farm LLC. has a herd of 130 registered Holstein cows. Holsteins are easily recognized by their distinctive color patterns of black and white or red and white. Holstein dairy cattle dominate our country's milk production industry, 9 out of every 10 dairy producers currently milk Holsteins. Holstein dairy cattle offer unexcelled production, greater income over feed costs, unequaled genetic merit, and adaptability to a wide range of environmental condition.

Raw Milk Information

Raw milk is rich in enzymes and contains all 22 of the essential amino acids, the building blocks of life, including phosphate. Phosphate is essential for the absorption of calcium and is plentifully present in raw milk but is completely destroyed by pasteurization. Prosphatase is an essential agent to the proper development of a strong skeletal structure. The enzyme lipase is also present in raw milk which aids in the digestion of fats and is destroyed by pasteurization.
